Candice Wiggins wasted no time in establishing herself as the premier female basketball player in the Pac-10 Conference.
She began last season as a 17-year-old freshman at Stanford. By the time the Cardinal were done, Wiggins had been anointed the most valuable player in the league.
She averaged 17 1/2 points, 5 1/2 rebounds, nearly three assists and 2 1/2 steals. Wiggins even blocked 19 shots as Stanford rumbled into the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight.
