Charmin Smith has been named an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of California, head coach Joanne Boyle announced on Tuesday. Smith is a former Stanford standout who played professionally for six years after her collegiate career. She comes to Cal after serving as an assistant coach for three seasons with the Cardinal. Candice, Jayne and Kayla are USA Basketball Finalists
Candice is one of 14 finalists for the 2007 USA U21 World Championship Team. Here are the Announcement and the Roster.
Jayne and Kayla are two of the 16 finalists for the 2007 USA Basketball U19 Women's World Championship Team. Here are the Announcement and the Roster.
Candice and Jayne are also two of the 15 finalists for 2007 USA Basketball Women's Pan Am Games Team. Here are the Announcement and the Roster.
Candice and Jayne are two of the only three players selected as finalists for two teams. (Amy Jaeschke, incoming freshman at Northwestern, is a finalist on both the U19 and U21 teams.)

Kayla looks terrific at USA U19 trials
Glenn Nelson of Hoopgurlz reports from the USA U19 Team trials that Kayla looks terrific. She "continues to be a high-energy performer who is slashing well to the basket and knocking down mid-range jumpers."
He mentions that Jayne is not at the trials. That's because she has a sprained ankle. She may be waived.

Candice invited to USA U21 & Pan Am Games Teams Trials
Candice is one of the 45 elite athletes under consideration for the 2007 USA Women's U21 and PanAm games teams. The trials will be held in Colorado Springs May 17-20.

The 2007 FIBA U21 World Championship for Women will be held June 29-July 8 in Moscow. Here is more information about the U21 Game.

Jayne, Jeanette and Kayla Invited to USA U19 Women's Junior National Team Trials
Jayne and incoming freshmen Jeanette Pohlen and Kayla Pedersen are among 37 of the nation's top 18-and-unders under consideration for spots on the eventual 12-member team that will participate in the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship that will be held July 26-Aug. 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Jayne and Kayla were members of last year's U18 team that won the gold medal at the 2006 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
The trials will be held May 17-20 in Colorado Springs.
