She is joined on the team by Baylor's Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims, Delaware's Elena Delle Donne and Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins.
Chiney's selection to the first team, combined with Nneka's selection in 2012 makes them the first sisters to be Associated Press first-team All-Americans. "Wow, what a really cool accomplishment for our family," Chiney said. "She always pulled me up when we were playing together, and to join her now is incredible."

Chiney has also been named one of three finalists for the WBCA's Division I National Defensive Player of the Year award for the second straight year, being joined by Griner and Connecticut's Kelly Faris. The award will be presented at the WBCA Awards Show on April 8 in New Orleans.
