And we'll be entertained at halftime by the fan-favorite agility dogs. Remember the great show they put on at Maples last year and the year before?
Fresno State is a strong team in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They return five seniors from a squad that went 27-7 last season, ending with a loss to Baylor in the NCAA first round.
The Bulldogs have had an easy schedule so far this season — the game against Stanford will be their first real test. It is reported that they look forward to the meeting and will be well prepared to give the Cardinal a run for their money as they seek their fourth straight WAC regular season championship.
- #02, 6'1" senior guard/forward Hayley Munro is the top scorer and second-best rebounder with 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She has scored in double digits every game this season and has three double-doubles.
- #04, 5'8" senior guard Jaleesa Ross runs the point for about 30 minutes a game. She averages 13.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and has a good 1.64 assist-to-turnover ratio.
- #25, 6'1" sophomore guard/forward Rosie Moult averages 11.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
- #10, 5'9" senior guard/forward Marnique Arnold averages 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
- #33, 5'5" redshirt freshman guard Taylor Thompson shares the point guard duties with Ross. She averages 4.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and has a 1.19 assist-to-turnover ratio.
As you can see, the Bulldogs lack size. They have two 6'3" centers, #45 junior Veronica Wilson and #21 sophomore Jeanna Furst. The BullDogs had hoped to establish a better post presence this season, but that hasn't happened so far. Between them, Wilson and Furst play for only about 12 minutes per game and haven't contributed many rebounds, blocks or points.
Here are Fresno State's 2010-11 statistics and their roster.
