Michelle Smith, pictured above at last year's Final Four, has been writing about Stanford women's basketball for fourteen years. Her good stories have greatly enhanced the experience of being a Cardinal fan.
Yesterday the Chronicle published her last column. There aren't enough words to say how much we'll miss them, Michelle.

What an asset we are losing! Everyone should leave a comment so that the Chron knows that we DO care about WBB!
I meant a comment on the Chron site, of course!
It pains me to see the cutbacks occuring at the Chron. So many good writers and editors, including the sports editor, are leaving. I've noticed that some are now writing as correspondents, so we can hope that Michelle will do the same. In the meantime, I suggest writing a letter to the editor, which might get more attention than comments on the Web.
