In the record book 2012-13

Chiney set seven Stanford records and three Pac-12 records this season.

The team set four Stanford records and two Pac-12 records this season.

Jos earned five entries in the Stanford record book in her senior year.

Chiney Ogwumike

Chiney made 24 rebounds on Feb 24, 2013 against Oregon at Maples, which breaks the single-game record of 23 set by Nneka in 2010.

She made 466 rebounds this season, which breaks the Stanford record and the Pac-12 record of 376 set by Nneka in 2009-10. She is also third in this category with the 374 rebounds she made last season.

She made those rebounds at the rate of 12.9, which breaks the Stanford season record of 11.2 set by Nicole Powell in 2003-04.

Her career record for rebounds per game is 10.4, which breaks the Stanford career record of 9.6 set by Nicole in 2000-04.

She doesn't own the career rebounding record yet. She is sixth in that category with 1,121 rebounds, 145 behind Kayla Pedersen's 1,266.

She made 317 field goals this season, which breaks the Stanford record and the Pac-12 record of 307 set by Nneka last season.

She just missed taking the season records for points and points per game away from Nneka. She scored 805 points this seasons, second to Nneka's 809 last season. She scored at the rate of 22.4 per game, second to Nneka's 22.5.

Chiney scored her 1,000th career point early in the season, on Nov 11 at Santa Clara, and became the 33rd member of the Stanford 1,000 Point Club. She finished the season with 1770 points, which puts her in ninth place in career points, 859 points behind the leader, Candice Wiggins. She scored 805 points this season.

She combined her scoring and rebounding in 28 double-doubles this season, which breaks the Stanford record of 19 set by Nneka last season.

She now has 57 double-doubles in her career, which breaks the Stanford record of 51 set by Nneka in 2008-12.

She was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week six times this season, which breaks the Pac-12 record of five set by USC's Cheri Nelson in 1987-88.

Chiney also places in two other career record categories — fifth in points per game (16.4) and third in field goal percentage (58.2%) — and in four other season record categories — tied for tenth in field goal percentage (59.6%), fourth in free throws attempted (219), fourth in free throws made (170) and fourth in blocked shots (62).

Joslyn Tinkle

Jos has been in the Stanford record book since her freshman season when she blocked six Oregon State shots on Jan 21, 2010. That placed her in a nine-way tie for second place in Stanford single-game blocks.

She blocked seven shots twice this season — at UC Davis on Nov 30, 2012 and against South Carolina at Maples on Dec 19, 2012 — which gives her sole ownership of second place in the category.

She made 89.5% of her free throw attempts last season, which placed her second to long-time record holder Louise Smith (1979-80) in the category.

She blocked 66 shots this season, which places her third in the category.

She blocked 150 shots in her career, which places her fourth in the category.

She played in 142 games in her career, which places her sixth in the category.

Jos scored her 1,000th point on Feb 22, 2013 against Oregon State at Maples. She finished her career with 1,091 points and ranks 31st of the 34 members of the Stanford 1,000 point club.

The 2012-13 Team

The team set two downside Stanford records on Dec 29, 2012 in that awful loss to UConn. They made just 11 field goals, which breaks the Stanford single-game record for fewest field goals — 17, most recently tallied against Cal in 2007. They made just 19.3% of their field goal attempts, which breaks the Stanford single-game record for lowest field-goal percentage — 26.5% against UConn in 2010.

On the upside, the team's superb defense held their opponents to 51.9 points per game, which breaks the Stanford and Pac-12 record of 53.9 set in 2009-10.

They held their opponents to 31.6% field goal percentage, which breaks the Stanford and Pac-12 record of 33.6% set last season.

The team won 33 games this season, won the Pac-12 Tournament and were the Pac-12 co-champion with Cal.

They hold the Pac-12 records for most 20-win seasons (23), most tournament titles (10) and most conference championships (22).

Chiney rightly can be called a rebounding machine.
