Up next: Mustangs and Longhorns

The Cal Poly Mustangs visit Maples on Friday November 11 at 7:00 pm.

The California Polytechnic State University is in San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs play in the Big West Conference along with several other schools Stanford often plays — UC Davis, Hawaii, UC Santa Barbara...

The Mustangs finished fifth in their conference last season and have been voted to finish sixth this season. Eleven of the players are back from last year's squad. Their go-to player is 6'3" senior forward Hannah Gilbert who was the Mustangs' leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker last season.

Here is the Mustangs' roster.

There will be a chalk talk before the game in Kissick Auditorium.

If you can't make it to Maples, you can watch the live stream, listen to the KZSU broadcast, and check live stats.

Things get serious three days later when the Texas Longhorns visit on Monday November 14 at 5:00 pm for what will probably be the Cardinal's toughest game of the season.

This will be the third consecutive meeting between the Cardinal and the Longhorns. The Cardinal have lost the last two games, at home in 2014 and in Texas last year.

Texas is ranked 8/6 in the national polls. espnW evaluates them so:

The Longhorns under coach Karen Aston are steadily building back to powerhouse status. After missing the NCAA tournament in Aston's first season in 2013, Texas reached the second round, then the Sweet 16, and last year the Elite Eight.

The graduation of Imani Boyette and Empress Davenport leaves a leadership void, but the Longhorns are talented enough to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2003.

Much of the early load will be placed on a pair of junior guards — 5-4 Brooke McCarty and 5-11 Ariel Atkins.

Aston needs 6-5 senior center Kelsey Lang to be a more confident offensive player. Guard Lashann Higgs (7.2 PPG) could be ready to break out as a sophomore after her increased productivity in last year's NCAA tournament.

A pair of top-10 recruits — 6-3 wing Joyner Holmes and 5-8 point guard Alecia Sutton — could be making a huge impact by March.

Here is the Longhorns' roster.

Coach Aston is assisted by Jamie Carey in her first season as a coach at Texas.

There will be a chalk talk before the game in Kissick Auditorium.

If you can't make it to Maples, you can watch the game on ESPN2, listen to the KZSU broadcast, and check live stats.
