Gonzaga brought its best game to Maples, and it was a much better one than the final score indicates. The Bulldogs shot a bit better than the Cardinal in the first half and took a one-point lead into the locker room. They stole the ball eight times and hassled the Cardinal into making 16 turnovers.
But they had no answer for the Cardinal's front court. The directive today was, "Get it to Nneka!" And when they didn't, she got it herself as she tallied her career double-double of 33 points and 18 rebounds.
Chiney made the play of the game when she grabbed a loose ball, barely recovered her balance as she lurched down the court, faked a pass, and laid the ball up and in. She had 19 points and six rebounds for the day.
Toni was the third double-digit scorer today with 14 points. She brought the Cardinal fans to their feet twice with a couple of fast breaks, one after a steal.
Also entertaining was a ridiculous basket by Nneka. She flipped the ball towards the basket as she was falling to the floor, and it went in! She lay on the floor for a few moments, laughing too hard to get up.

The play you referenced after the first picture was actually Nneka, not Chiney. She is the one who recorded the steal and posterized the Gonzaga defender with a fake pass.
Love your blogs :)
That play looked so-Chiney, but you're right about it's being Nneka. Fan photographer Baranduin Briggs proves it with her photos of Nneka's steal and the fake pass in her photos of the game (see FBC Fan Pix blog).
