Team Canada drops semifinal to Russia

Canada was overwhelmed by a big, powerful Russian team and lost its semifinal game of the FIBA U19 Cup, 65-41.

No Canadian player achieved a good performance. Alyssa Jerome had five points, two rebounds, two assists and a block. Laeticia Amihere had four points, eight rebounds (the team high), a steal and a block.

Team Canada will go for the bronze against Japan on Sunday morning at 9:30 am Pacific time. The USA and Russia will battle for the gold at noon.
