The John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 20 list was announced today by The Los Angeles Athletic Club. This is the second year that Kayla has been named to the Wooden Award midseason list.

She is third on the team in scoring with 11.5 points per game. So far she has scored 1650 points in her career – seventh on the Stanford record list.

She is second on the team in rebounding with 8.2 per game. She has made 1093 rebounds in her career and needs 171 more to break the Stanford record, which was set last season by Jayne Appel.

Kayla has played every position for the Cardinal — wherever she was needed. She started this season as a shooting guard, but has moved back to the small forward position since the Tennessee game. Her favorite position is, "Anything that keeps me on the floor."

Nneka was a member of the 2010 John R. Wooden Award Women’s All-American team.

She leads the Cardinal in scoring with 17.2 points per game and in rebounding with 8.4. In just 2½ seasons, she already has 1329 points and 716 rebounds. She is on target to join Jayne, Nicole Powell and Val Whiting in the 2000 point / 1000 rebound club.

She makes 59.3% of her field goal attempts — the tenth-best in the nation.
