The Cougars put up some strong defense of their own early in the game and were down by just 10 points fifteen minutes into the game. But they couldn't keep pace with the taller, stronger, more skillful Cardinal, and the clobbering started five minutes into the second half.
Joslyn played a fine game in front of her parents and other family and friends from Montana. She scored 12 points, including two of three 3-pointers and a pretty put-back. She also had two rebounds, a block and a steal.
The sisters dominated the scoreboard. Chiney had her fourth double-double of the season and the only one today – 14 points, 10 rebounds (and a block and a steal). Nneka was the top scorer with 20 points on 71% shooting; she also had eight rebounds and a steal.
Jeanette was hot from beyond the arc today, sinking four of nine attempts. She scored 14 points in all and had five rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
Kayla had an off-day offensively, but contributed nine rebounds and three assists to the victory. She played just 26 minutes, but that puts her within 70 of breaking the Stanford career record for minutes played that was set by Virginia Sourlis 25 years ago.
