Reigning Pac-10 Player of the Year Nnemkadi Ogwumike is expected to play for No. 4 Stanford in its home game Thursday night against Arizona after being tested for concussion-like symptoms.
A preseason All-America pick, the 6-foot-2 junior forward and Stanford's second-leading scorer landed on her shoulder in the second half of Sunday's 78-45 rout of rival California. While her head didn't hit the ground, she was experiencing headaches right after the fall.
Tara VanDerveer said Ogwumike was held out of practice Tuesday — limited to non-contact activities, like riding the stationary bike — but the coach hoped to have her at full strength for Wednesday's workout.
"She was fine," VanDerveer said. "She is having no headaches. She's doing well."
