The story is also about what's developing in Corvallis — "... a great testament to the collaborative strength of the human spirit."

How OSU beat Washington
There's no Stanford news today. Instead here's a very nice story by Q McCall (Swish Appeal) about how Oregon State beat Washington for a well-deserved first Pac-10 win.

To overcome a program upheaval with such courage, poise and dignity (can you think of a better way to describe their actions?) the Oregon State University Women's Basketball team has shown is phenomenal (I might even say sublime).
It's fairly easy being a program fan (extremely easy being a team member) when you possess a program like our Ladies Cardinal enjoy.
A little more difficult - for both parties - when you do not . . .
Yet, IMHO, the Oregon Women's Basketball team has gone beyond representing their school (specifically), and women's sports (generally) and now represent the true 'Spirit of Sports.
Paraphrasing The Runners Creed ' . . . if I cannot win . . . I shall still do my best', describes the OSU Women's Basketball team perfectly.
Yep, Oregon State University Women's Basketball, 2010-2011. An incredible gathering of athletes.
Final thought. Again, IMHO, it might be nice when Stanford Women BB host OSU on February 24, the Pavilion Announcer acknowledges the Ladies from Corvallis with a little side note. Maybe something like 'The team with the biggest heart in the PAC 10'. 'Exemplifying, pride, determination and loyality . . .'
Maybe Stanford fans might even find it within themselves to stand for OSU team introductions and applaud for them.
Sort of our way of saying 'Great Job!'. After all, we should know, shouldn't we? Or, 'You a credit to us all.' Stanfor WBB can still be inspired by others, can't we?
Just a thought.
