Battle of the Bay at Haas

Stanford has a perfect conference record(so far) but the Cal Bears took the Cardinal into overtime in January – the only team to do that this season – and lost by just three points.

I expect that Cal will defend its home court on Sunday evening just as ferociously as Stanford defends Maples, determined not to let another opportunity to end Stanford's 74-game conference win streak slip away.

I doubt that statistics matter a whole lot in this rivalry, but – for the record – here is how Stanford and Cal match up:

Points per game 77.5 70.6
Scoring margin +23.0 +11.0
Field goal % 0.458 0.421
3-pointers per game 5.5 3.7
3-point % 0.313 0.307
Free throw % 0.755 0.614
Rebounds per game 44.9 45.9
Rebounding margin +11.6 +13.5
Assists per game 17.2 13.4
Turnovers per game 12.8 16.6
Assist/turnover ratio 1.34 0.81
Steals per game 6.9 8.0
Blocks per game 4.2 3.1
RPI 2 26
