Monte Poole (Bay Area News Group) comments on yesterday's Stanford/Cal game, then considers what lies ahead for the Cardinal:
We've come to expect the Cardinal to get there [to the NCAA tournament], and it unfailingly responds, sailing onto the national stage, usually making a deep run. Then, suddenly, Stanford reaches a point where it must dig for a level not previously needed -- a level that, while it was running the West Coast table, generally was unnecessary.
