Breaking down the Regionals

espnW writers Mechelle Voepel, Graham Hayes, Kate Fagan, Charlie Creme and Michelle Smith take a close look at each of the regionals — observations, players to watch, best first-round game, potential upsets and projected semifinals:
  • Des Moines Regional breakdown - No. 1 overall seed Baylor did not get an easy path to Denver. EspnW's writers each take a look at what some experts have tabbed the toughest regional in the women's tournament.

  • Fresno Regional breakdown - Stanford remains the storyline. But before we find out if the Cardinal can reach a fifth consecutive Final Four...

  • Kingston Regional breakdown - Connecticut is a No. 1 seed for the sixth straight season and 15th time overall. Who might stand in the way of the Huskies reaching a 13th Final Four?

  • Raleigh Regional breakdown - The one team that wasn't a No. 1 seed tabbed to reach Denver by at least one expert? Second-seeded Maryland. Bottom line? No. 1 seed Notre Dame -- and the rest of the region -- has a tough road ahead.
