... said Nneka proudly, as the Cardinal capped its perfect conference season with a tournament championship for the third consecutive time with a 77-62 victory over Cal.
Nneka earned bragging rights with her magnificent performance today. She scored 29 points, snagged 12 rebounds, blocked two shots, stole the ball thrice and, "You need perimeter shooting? I can do that!" sank her first three three-pointers of the season.
Chiney got her 17th double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Amber scored 13 points with dribble drives to the basket and 83% free throw shooting, grabbed three rebounds, stole the ball twice and harassed Brittany Boyd mercilessly.
Joslyn tallied nine points (including a three-pointer), four rebounds, two assists and a steal and blocked five Cal shots – hard!
Toni was everywhere, doing whatever was needed as usual for 39 minutes. She got the Cardinal offense off to a fine start with a three-pointer on the second possession. She added six more points on two jumpers and a layup, and got two rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Chiney was named to the All-Tournament team along with Jazmine Perkins(WSU), Kimberley Brandon (ASU), Layshia Clarendon (Cal) and Brittany Boyd (Cal).
And, of course, Nneka was named the Most Valuable Player.
